This is Kabuki. He lives at my house. On sunny San Francisco days when the light shines through the window and covers the living room floor, he rolls around in it meowing. I’ve never seen a cat so happy.
Lucky for Kabuki, especially during this time of year, he gets many days like this. Usually I just watch, enjoying how much he enjoys it. That’s when I took the above picture.
Today was different. I looked at him and decided to join. I laid down next to him, in the sun. Right then it all made sense. It felt so good!
It reminded me of an important lesson: Don’t only be an observer in life. Participate.
